Monday Poetry Train - Pierre
Je t'attendais
I'm waiting for youAppuyée sur cette pierre
Against this rockVêtue de cette robe
Wearing the dressQue j'avais prise
That I pickAvec l'attention
With the mostLa plus délicate
Delicate attentionD'un noir de jais
Of a jet blackCompétitionant avec celui
Competing with the blackDe ces corbeaux
Of the crowsQui ne font
That do nothingQue me tourmenter
But tourment meDéchirant les derniers lambeaux
Tearing the last shredsDe ce coeur en charpie
Of this heart in fragmentsJe me tourne
I turnLentement
SlowlyPour mieux regarder
To take a better lookCette pierre
At this rockQui me supporte
That supporte meGlisser mes doigts
Sliding my fingersSur son inscription
On its inscriptionLes larmes aux yeux
Tears in my eyesCar elle vient
Because it hasD'épeller
SpelledTon nom
Your name

Wow - the ending is twisty and sad. But gorgeously sad, like Romeo & Juliet sad. Love this, Jill!

Rhian, thank you. And remember that you are the one that help the creativity in that one...
Julia, I have to love you! Comparing my poem with a Shakespeare play! You've just made my day!
Gautami, the picture was the inspiration. I just found it so beautiful when I saw it on Rhian blog last week!
